(12) Point Hi-Lo Fork Inspection

(12) Point Hi-Lo Fork Inspection

Fork Lift Truck Inspection: Inspection of Hi-Lo Truck Forks, per OSHA 1910,178 standard and ITSDF B56.1 (ASME B56.1) standard. NIS will perform a 12 point inspection using the following procedure:

  1. Physical characteristics (such as size, type and serial number) of hardware are recorded on an inspection report.
  2. Hi-Lo Forks are visually inspected for defects including elongation, wear, deformation, and missing capacity markings.
  3. Bails and hooks of hardware are inspected for cracks invisible to the naked eye using either a Magnetic Particle test or a Liquid Penetrant test.
  4. If it passes the inspection, each piece of hardware will be tagged with a color coded inspection tag to demonstrate that it has been checked.
  5. Hardware which does not pass inspection will be tagged with a caution tag as well as a red paint mark.
  6. Lastly, a computer generated report will be provided on a spreadsheet with a certificate governing regulatory standards for all passing inspections.
