Specialty Lifting Device Inspection: Inspection of Specialty Lifters, End Effectors, C-Hooks, Sheet Lifters, Coil Lifters, Car Carriers and Assembly Line Lifters, per OSHA General Duty Clause and ASME B30.20 standard.
- Physical characteristics, such as capacity, serial number, type and tooling number if available of Specialty Lifters are recorded on an inspection report.
- Specialty Lifters are visually inspected for excessive wear, deformation, out of plane bending, excessive gouges and missing capacity markings.
- Physical measurements of Specialty Lifters are taken if necessary to keep records of stretch or growth from year to year.
- Specialty Lifters are load tested to 125% of safe working load limit as required.
- Welds of Specialty Lifters are inspected for cracks that can not be seen by the naked eye using a Magnetic Particle test or a Liquid Penetrant test.
- Each passable Specialty Lifter will be tagged with a color coded inspection tag or sticker, demonstrating that it has been checked.
- Specialty Lifters which do not pass inspection will be tagged with a caution tag as well as a red paint mark.
- Lastly, a computer generated report will be provided on a spreadsheet with a certificate to governing regulatory standards for all passing items.
